Mould is a hazard in the home and workplace if not identified and remediated.

Moulds produce allergens and irritants, and in some case can produce toxic substances (biotoxins). Ingestion of these substances can consequently cause health effects, ranging from mild reactions to altering the production of hormones and induce biotoxin-related illnesses. Mould can also cause structural damage to homes and buildings.

The course covers topics such as:
• Characteristics of mould and common types.
• Where it can be found and how to identify.
• Health effects (including irritant effects, biotoxins and biotoxin pathway)
• Structural damage
• Sampling collection and laboratory results
• Preventing mould growth
• Removal and remediation methods (including different surfaces)
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
