Our Confined Space including Gas Test training course is delivered as a 1-day course. We also offer a 4-hour half-day refresher Confined Space only course when the participant has successfully completed the Enter and Work in Confined Spaces course within the past 3 years.

Both options are nationally accredited, Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. The Statement is issued by All Global Training and you will also receive a wallet card detailing your competency.

This nationally recognised course covers theory and practical aspects of the above course.

As part of your training we will assist you to develop safe work method statements and job safety analysis (JSA) risk assessments and confined space permits.

Workers who complete or supervise Confined space will benefit from this course. This course will enable you to comply with current workplace health and safety (WHS) obligations and legislation with successful participants receiving a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and wallet card.

Training and assessment can be conducted at your workplace for groups or off-site at All Global Training Darwin.

This nationally recognised training course is required for people who work in or around confined spaces at their workplace. Participants will have an increased awareness and the skills to safely complete the following;

  • Identify what is a confined space
  • Work safely within confined spaces in accordance with the permit and Risk controls
  • Operate confined space safety equipment.

Weather you work in general construction, maintenance, mining, oil and gas, large factories or other work situation where work is conducted in confined spaces you need to be trained and be competent.

What is a confined space?

According to the Safe Work Australia Code of Practice, A ‘confined space’ means an enclosed or partially enclosed space that:

  • is not designed or intended to be occupied by a person
  • is, or is designed or intended to be, at normal atmospheric pressure while any person is in the space; and
  • is or is likely to be a risk to health and safety from:
  • an atmosphere that does not have a safe oxygen level, or
  • contaminants, including airborne gases, vapours and dusts, that may cause injury from fire or explosion, or
  • harmful concentrations of any airborne contaminants, or
  • Engulfment.

 

Examples of confined spaces include (but are not limited to):

Confined spaces are commonly found in vats, tanks, pits, pipes, ducts, flues, chimneys, silos, containers, pressure vessels, underground sewers, wet or dry wells, shafts, trenches, tunnels or other similar enclosed or partially enclosed structures, when these examples meet the definition of a confined space in the WHS Regulations.

The standard 1 day Confined Space including Gas test cost is $250.00 Per Participant
The half day 4 hour Confined Space refresher course cost is $180.00 Per Participant
The 6 hour Gas Test course cost $200 Per Participant

Full Payment for your course must be made at least the day prior to the course commencement. When paying EFT the payment must be received at least the day prior to the course commencement. Your place will be confirmed in the course once payment is made in full and course pre-requisites are meet.

Participants must provide Photographic Identification (Licence, Passport etc.).

If participants are unsure of what may be involved, they should contact us immediately to speak to an assessor. If assistance is required in regards to language, literacy and numeracy, please advise your trainer prior to enrolment. Student Handbook

You will need to have a USI. A USI gives you access to your online USI account which is made up of ten numbers and letters. It will look something like this: 3AW88YH9U5.

A USI account will contain all your nationally recognised training records and results. One of the main benefits of the USI is that you will have easy access to your training records and results throughout your life.

You will be required to provide All Global Training with your USI when you enroll with us.

Verification of Competencies can be delivered on-site and at our training facility for this course. For more information, please contact the facility.

Participants are required to wear appropriate clothing including PPE (high visibility, long sleeved shirt, long trousers) and steel capped boots. All Global Training will provide participants with learning material and assessment documentation. A range of assessment methods are used to enable participants to demonstrate competency including: written knowledge test, written calculations test and practical test.

The practical test has a series of skills and abilities that must be demonstrated under the direct observation of the assessor. All Global Training trainers and assessors hold TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, can demonstrate industry knowledge and competence and are Worksafe approved. The trainer will let you know on the day of training whether you have successfully completed the course and provide you with guidance/advice if you require additional training to complete the unit.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL and Credit Transfer) is the recognition of skills and knowledge gained through formal training, work experience and life experience. If participants have current experience, the course time may be reduced. They may be asked to provide additional evidence to support their application, or participate in a challenge test to assist All Global Training staff in determining their current level of knowledge and skills. All Global Training is obliged to recognise AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other registered training organisations. Direct Credit Transfer is available for students who enrol in a course and have an existing equivalent unit of competency from the same or another course. RPL and CT can only be granted against the knowledge and skills component of this course.
