This course provides food handlers with the necessary skills and knowledge of food safety, hygiene and food allergens.

This course meets the requirements for Food Handlers as per the Standard 3.2.2A of the Food Standards Code in all states and territories except the ACT.

It covers:

    • Causes and types of bacterial food poisoning 
  • Prevention
    • Food safety programs 
    • Preventing food poisoning
    • Food handling controls
  • Allergens
    • Common allergens and reactions
    • Cross contact and cleaning

    • Food Safety Standards
    • State by State Legislation (choose your state)
    • Environmental Health Officer (or equivalent) duties

Note that Food Safety Supervisors are required to complete additional Nationally Recognised Training, which may include the following (depending on your state/territory):

  • SITXFSA005 – Use hygiene practices for food safety
  • SITXFSA006 – Participate in safe food handling practices
